• Morning All, sadly Coffee Break isn't on today following water damage to the community hall that happened over the weekend. Whiz Kids will be running in the church building next door and we'll be running anything else we can there but please check with leaders before turning up if unsure!

Church Services will go ahead as normal!

New Wine Leaders Network Day - South East
    Begin: 2018-03-20, 10:00 -

    Organised by New Wine Cymru
This event is open to all leaders and their leadership teams.
Lunch is provided by donation of £5 to confirm your attendance

We will be following a leadership curriculum during our five regional days together. Bill Hybels has produced  ”From Here to There”, an excellent leadership tool that covers five essential leadership skills. The course includes a video from Bill, discussion workbook, personal leadership style analysis & targeted learning outcomes.

I'm excited to think that as we do this together as leaders across the nation we really will have the opportunity to simultaneously raise our game for the sake of the church and this nation.

The course will take place in the first part of the leadership day, then after the break we will have worship and ministry from one of our New Wine Cymru team as usual.  Please think about who else from your team you can bring to this course and order your workbook at the New Wine Cymru office by January 12th to make sure you got everything you need in time to start the course.

Transform Work Cardiff Networking Event for Leaders of Christian Workplace Groups
    Begin: 2018-03-20, 18:00 -

We in TransformWork UK are seeking to engage with more people in Wales who might be thinking about starting a Christian group at their workplace, or may simply be wanting to find a channel through which they can explore the application of their faith to their work.  To help people do this, members of our current and new CWGs will be sharing their stories and experiences.

Following our vibrant meeting in September, where we used a presentation on the history of TWUK to bring out the stories and challenges of CWGs in South Wales, we are holding another sharing meeting in March 2018.

Once again it will be held, in the offices of the Open University in central Cardiff (which has a car park, and is near to both bus and railway stations). We will be gathering from 6.00pm for a 6.30 start and formal proceedings will end by 8.30pm, after which there will be more time for an informal chat

"Over 18" - A documentary on the effects of Pornography on young people
    Begin: 2018-03-22, 19:30 -

    • ‘Over 18’ a documentary film about pornography that we will be screening free of charge at St Mark’s Gabalfa at 7.30 on 22nd March 2018.

The feature-length documentary was made by Christian couple Jared and Michelle Brock of the anti-human sex-trafficking organization Hope for the Sold. It is an attempt to educate and inform people about the huge danger that online pornography and pornography addiction presents today, especially among children and teens. However, the film is relevant to all of us because it is a wake up call to the church, alerting us to what children and adults can be exposed to online.

A trailer for the film can be viewed at the film’s website (over18doc.com).

      Did you know that t:
in 1975, Playboy magazine had a circulation of 5.6 million. Today more than 100 million people visit adult sites monthly
6 out of 10 girls are exposed to pornography before the age of 18
9 out of 10 boys are exposed to pornography before the age of 18
The first exposure to pornography among men is 12 years old, on average

The film features interviews with interviews with porn producers, ex-porn stars, academics and more. The film is not pornographic in any way but it may well shock you. There are some descriptions of sexual and violent acts that are typical in contemporary pornography. As a result the makers of the film suggest it is suitable to those over 16.

In addition to screening the film we will be discussing how you can protect yourself and your family from the problem of pornography.
