Open the Book Training - Bible Society
Begin: 2018-09-05, 19:00 -
Initial Training Event: Albany Road Baptist Church, CF23 5BR September 5th7pm
Everyone loves a good story – telling them and listening to them – and stories are all around us, on the news, soaps, documentaries, books, films and social media.
What story could be more important to tell today than God’s story, as found in the Bible?
Across Wales and England, children are seeing the Bible ‘come to life’ in their schools through Open the Book, which is part of the Bible Society. Teams of volunteers from local churches provide 15 minute assemblies using carefully prepared and easy to use resources based on the Bob Hartman Storyteller Bible.
This free training session will equip you to use the Open the Book resources.
Register to attend with email@example.com.
Or you’re very welcome to come along to find out more before actually taking the step of forming a team.

Digwyddiad Hyfforddiant Cychwynnol: Eglwys y Bedyddwyr Albany Road, CF23 5BR Medi 5ed 7pm
Mae pawb yn mwynhau stori dda – yn eu hadrodd neu’n gwrando arnynt - ac mae storïau o'n cwmpas ymhob man, ar y newyddion, rhaglenni sebon a dogfen, llyfrau, ffilmiau ac ar y cyfryngau cymdeithasol.
Pa stori allai fod yn bwysicach i'w hadrodd heddiw na stori Duw, fel y canfuwyd yn y Beibl?
Ar draws Cymru a Lloegr, mae plant yn gweld y Beibl yn 'dod yn fyw' yn eu hysgolion trwy Agor y Llyfr, sy'n rhan o Gymdeithas y Beibl. Mae timau o wirfoddolwyr o eglwysi lleol yn darparu gwasanaethau 15 munud o hyd gan ddefnyddio adnoddau wedi'u paratoi'n ofalus a sy’n hawdd eu defnyddio yn seiliedig ar Beibl y Storiwr gan Bob Hartman.
Bydd y sesiwn hyfforddi (sy’n rhad ac am ddim) yn eich galluogi i ddefnyddio adnoddau Agor y Llyfr.

Christian Connections for the workplace - Transform Work Cardiff Networking
Begin: 2018-09-18, 18:00 -
Christian Connections for the workplace
The world is full of stories about the impact of a living faith in the workplace – on the Christians acting out their faith; on their colleagues; on the organisation; on all its stakeholders. On Tuesday 18 September, members of Christian groups in Welsh workplaces, church leaders and individual Christians will gather to share experiences, to support and help each other, and to wonder how much more significant the impact of our faith could be. Why not come and join us? Whatever the nature of your faith or your relationship with God, be you an expert or a novice in faith at work, you will be welcome,
Hosted by TransformWork UK, the meeting will be held in the offices of the Open University in central Cardiff (which has a car park, and is near to both bus and railway stations). We will be gathering from 6.00pm for a 6.30 start and formal proceedings will end by 8.30pm, after which there will be more time for an informal chat.
We are seeking to engage with more people in Wales who might be thinking about starting a Christian group at their workplace, or may simply be wanting to find a channel through which they can explore the application of their faith to their work. If you too are interested but cannot attend the meeting (or even if you can) drop us a line and start a discussion with us at firstname.lastname@example.org
